The ‘language of slot machines’ has changed over time. Slots have also evolved. This glossary provides a brief overview of some terms used in slot machines.
Basic slots: One payline (also known as straight or flat-top) has a fixed top jackpot payout that doesn’t change.
Bet Max To wager the maximum coins on each spin/play, you must bet the maximum amount. Maximal wagers will result in the highest payouts. You can only activate multi-line slot paylines. However, to extend your playing time, wager 1-2 coins per line.

Collect The amount of credits/cash earned after playing a session of slots. The bonus round ends with a Collect button for bonus slots.
Double/Triple symbols: When these symbols are found in the middle of a single slot, in combination with other symbols that create a winning combination to form a winning combination the payout amount is doubled or even tripled. The jackpot payout is increased by having two or three of the same symbols.
Hit Frequency is the average number spins per slot machine. The higher the hit frequency, it is better.
A 2 means that you have a hit every two spins, and a 7 indicates that you have a hit approximately every seven spins. Every 7th spin. It is better to have a payout every 2nd spin than every 7th.

Nudge slots:Slot features where a winning symbol will “drop down”, creating a win. It could be a wild, diamond, cherry, or basketball symbol. All you need is a slight nudge to make the money go your way. The name of a nudge slot usually includes the word “Deluxe” in it.
Progressive slots: have game slot growing jackpots that depend on how much money is played through the linked carousel/bank slot machines. You will need a larger bankroll to play progressives. All progressives have at least three coins max slots and two jackpot levels, primary and secondary. Values are reset to their minimums when either jackpot winner wins. Here, max play is mandatory.
